The Logis de Chassay is an elegant 19th century maison bourgeoise, right in the centre of the medieval village of Charroux in the beautiful Charente Valley.
We have 3 rooms (2 double and one family room), each with en-suite facilities. Breakfast is included, and we also offer the option of an evening meal.
Charroux is on the Santiago de Compostela pilgrim trail and contains the ruins of one of the largest abbeys in Christendom, with its unique octagonal tower.
Situated midway between Poitiers and Angouleme, Niort and Limoges, Charroux is perfect for a short break, with lots to see in the area. It is also ideal for a stopover on your journey north-south or east-west.
The Logis de Chassay has now closed. Many thanks to all our faithful guests.
"A place of calm after a hectic few days!"
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 May 2015
My short stay at Le Logis de Chassay was peaceful and relaxing. I recently had a couple of hectic days racing around the French countryside sorting out some business that had to be done ASAP. When I arrived at Le Logis de Chassay I was tired and in need of a restful place to lay my weary head..............and I had found it. Entering the hallway, I was confronted by a beautiful sweeping wooden staircase that led up to the bedrooms. The house was calm and inviting. My room was spacious, relaxing and the bed was very comfy. This is a real find and the patrons are lovely....as is the picturesque setting that this stunning house sits in. I would really recommend a stay at this hotel. The local area is worth a look around as there is lots of interesting history to discover. The local tourist office is not far and there is often local festivals to get involved in. So if you are driving through the area or just fancy a short break in this area of France, don't forget Le Logis de Chassay. You won't be disappointed.
